Amanda Ingram
Owner, Principal Marine Environmental Scientist & Policy Advisor

As Owner and Principal Scientist and Policy Advisor for Atlanticus Marine, Amanda brings over 10 years of marine science and environmental policy consulting experience. Amanda holds a Masters of Marine Affairs & Policy from University of Rhode Island and a double Bachelors degree in B.S. Environmental Science with emphasis in Marine Science, and B.A. Communications from California Lutheran University.

Her research portfolio includes a four-year biological oceanographic study of marine invertebrate and planktonic biodiversity and abundance surrounding Santa Catalina Island, California prior to the establishment of the CA Marine Life Protection Act network of marine protected areas; an ecological impact assessment and stakeholder engagement study regarding the first offshore wind project in North America, Deepwater Wind’s Block Island Wind Farm; and a detailed policy analysis of current shark and highly migratory species conservation measures and their impact on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated fishing for Chondrichthyes. Additionally, Amanda has over 7 years of environmental consulting experience in both the government (military contractor- Ft. Bliss Army Installation) and private sectors (KPA,LLC), providing expertise regarding oil spill and pollution prevention control and countermeasures in accordance with the Clean Water Act and EPA 40 CFR 112. Furthermore, Amanda has extensive knowledge of NEPA, CWA, CAA, RCRA, EPCRA, CERCLA, CZMA, MSFCMA, MARPOL, and UNCLOS laws and regulations, permitting, marine resource economics, stakeholder engagement methods, and environmental education. Amanda has also served as a marine science educator for several aquariums and as Marine Biology lab Teaching Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, in addition to providing environmental trainings to clients on a daily basis as a consultant, conducting more than 3,000 presentations to date.

Amanda is currently a member of The Coastal Society and The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Society for Women in Marine Science URI chapter. She is PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Certified with experience in Scientific Diving, Deep Diving, Navigation, and Search and Recovery. She also holds an OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper Certification.

Sheri Schwartz
Marine Scientist, Environmental Consultant, Science Writer
(Subcontracting Partner)

As a contracting professional in the environmental industry, Sheri is experienced in research and program coordination, data analysis, marine strategic development, and science communication. She joins Atlanticus Marine Environmental Consulting after having earned a Master of Science in Marine Science and Marine Biology from Nova Southeastern University, where her two-year research project focused on analytical risk assessments of microplastics among filter feeders. This analysis shed light on the filter feeding species most at risk of consuming microplastic debris and led to the development of analytical techniques that she has continued to use throughout her professional career. 

Prior to joining Atlanticus Marine, Sheri earned combined consulting experiences with environmental firms in the private sector, as well as with non-government organizations. Sheri’s award-winning portfolio also includes volunteer experience with Changing Seas, a docuseries produced by South Florida PBS, and Guy Harvey Research Institute, where she provided support during shark tagging trips. She is a published writer and has previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Media Production from Florida State University.
